Danny WiddicombeThe Phantom

I call him that because he’s like this lost blues-rock player from the 70s, went tripping out at Joshue Tree and took 4 decades to come back kinda deal.

Lucky for us he’s not playing guitar for us .. he’s that good, it would make us feel really inadequate. Bum trip for the night, kinda deal.

He also fights Leukemia on a pretty regular basis. DUDE.

“You never know the secrets that our futures have in store,” Danny Widdicombe sings on his third solo album. Indeed. Find Someone has quite a backstory.

While making the album, the Brisbane musician discovered that his “old foe”, leukaemia, had returned. Between bouts of chemotherapy, he completed the album, with the help of producer Magoo and many friends, including his Wilson Pickers bandmates Ben Salter and Andrew Morris.

With a vocal reminiscent of Neil Young, Widdicombe knows how to tell a story. And Find Someone is a triumphant tale. – Jeff Jenkins
