And We’re Off to a Flying Start..

dowse-feb12 Greetings folks and welcome to a fab new year. We trust you’ve celebrated well and binged responsibly over the holiday season. We’re well and truly rested and things at WAWT Inc couldn’t be better. We’ve just played our first show of the year for our March residency at the Dowse Bar Paddington. Joining us on Sunday were local wunderkids Okemah. It was their first ever show and we were gobsmacked. The combination of Angelic voices, immense talent and good looks means that they’ll be something well worth catching in the future.

Next week we’re back at the Dowse Bar again this time with the ever wonderful Kellie Lloyd who’s taking time out from her duties in Screamfeeder to go solo. She’s got an amazing album out and she’ll be playing toons from it. It’ll be an extra special day cause it’s Kel’s birthday, so come on down and help us celebrate it with her.

Watch this space for more Dowse Bar shows..You should check out our Facebook and add, like and befriend us to keep up to date. One other item of note; you should see our new tour dates..They are freakin awesome. We’ll be doing an East Coast jaunt through March, April and May with our good mates Halfway. Joining us will be the legendary Nick Barker, formerly of The Wreckery and Nick Barker & The Reptiles.

We’ve got shows backed up to the wahzoo in just about every major city so there’s no reason to miss any. You’ll kick yourself if you do.

2011 so there we have it.

Big love and happy new year to all our friends and family who have supported us this year, put up with our absences and made do with the lot of a loved one in a band.
A massive thanks to everyone we’ve worked with this year, to those who came out to shows, put on shows for us, promoted them. We’ve played with some fantastic bands this year, strengthened some friendships and made lots of new ones.
Extra special thanks to Darek, Dave, Toddka and Simon. It’s been bloody fab year and we’re even more excited about the new one ahead. New album, new songs, new shows and more touring. See you all sooon.
WAWT out.

Winding it up alright..

Played Rics last night with our new friends Suicide Swans and had a freakin ball doing it. Thanks to the chaps from Grand Atlantic who joined us on stage with percussive excellence on ‘Let’s Not Lose’. November is well upon us and we’re winding up the year with a final show on December 10 at the Beetle Bar with the fabulous Jamie Hutchings from Bluebottle Kiss. We’ve done a few shows with Jamie around the country now and it’s always rather special to catch up and see him play.

We’d like to give a massive thanks Grand Atlantic for taking us around the country on their Constellations tour. Tour highlights were shows at The Loft on the Gold Coast and The Spotted Cow at Toowoomba. Much shenanigans abounded including an exchage of tour bus games. GA taught us how to play ‘Who’s ya dad’. We taught them how to play the ‘getting game’. That morphed into late night/early morning Heytell gang assaults..good times.
Cheerio.

beetle-bar Next gig:

Balmy Sunday Arvo at The Powerhouse & We All Felt The Love…

Well we finally got around to playing one of our very favourite venues yesterday and we had a bunch of fun.  Thanks so much to everyone who came out to see us at the powerhouse for Livespark.   It’s nice to play a near full room and feel the love.  To the choreographed dancers on the mezzanine,  you guys were fab.

A massive thanks to The Bell Divers who were sadly unable to play with having one of their fold rushed to hospital at the last moment.  We hope for a speedy recovery there.  Like champions half of the band came along and still let us use their bass amp, so thanks heaps guys.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and really look forward to coming back again.

Newcastle and Sydney it’s your turn next..we’ll be down with the boys from Grand Atlantic to make some lush noise and sort out your lager supplies.

Stay tooned!!!

U2 are gonna get cremated…sooner or later.

What??? Don’t worry..we’ve created our own mondegreen…well it’s pretty close to a mondegreen. What’s a mondegreen? We’re glad you asked…just look here.

Just so Bono and his mates don’t go dragging us through law suit the whole line is…’if you sleep by the incinerator YOU TOO are gonna get cremated…sooner or later’.

So yeah we’ve been well immersed in the schedule and if you check out our Facebook you’ll see the progress chart to date real soon. We’re last day in at The Shed churning through last little bits of percussion takes, backing vocals and instrumentation.

Because it’s been a few days in between posts let us bring you up to date. So far the Vocal take predictor App has developed all kinds of additional possibilities taking into account which guitars are likely to be used on which track..oh and just for the punters…a guess which guitar we used here level. If we don’t make a squillion on the album WAWT Apps inc will more than sort us for old age.

Nightly catering has been nothing short of top shelf and we’re even considering branching out into WAWT catering inc as well..you know..just for that special touch.

Piece of toast gag is still alive and well and the gets are still getting got at a faster rate than ever.
